Obituary of Charles P. Case
Charles P. Case, also known as Chip or Charlie, a thirty-one year resident of Manitou Springs, Colorado, died at age 77 on January 17, 2022, at Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Charles was married to Phillip St.Cloud, known as "Val", for forty-eight years, who preceded him in death last December. He leaves behind a sister, Penny Symington of Fairfield Glade, Tennessee; his brother-in-law, Gary Symington; two nieces, D'Anne Ramos of Brighton, Michigan, and Kristin St. Marie of Phoenix, Arizona; two great-nieces; two great-nephews; his two beloved dogs, Rocket-Two and Lula; as well as many friends and business associates.Charlie and Val maintained a large Queen Anne Victorian on upper Ruxton Avenue in Manitou Springs, as well as a condominium in Pensacola Beach, and a vacation ranch house in Park County. Charlie served on the board of the Florida condominium and on several charitable boards locally. Charlie was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Aeronautical Engineering. He worked as a rocket scientist for Grumman Aircraft and Lockheed Martin before establishing his own consulting firm in the field.He enjoyed reading, rodeo, art, and music, especially opera. He and Val were twenty-five year patrons of Lyric Opera of Chicago and twenty year patrons of Colorado Opera.Charlie's kindness and enthusiasm for life will be greatly missed by his family and friends.A memorial service for both Charlie and Val will be planned for some time in the future.Memorial contributions in Charlie's name may be made to the Pikes Peak Arts Council (pikespeakartscouncil.org) 427 East Colorado Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
