Dan and I worked together at CSC starting in early 1980. I was hired to help with testing in Cheyenne Mountain and Dan was assigned as my mentor and office mate. He was so patient with me. Taught me so much/everything about how the missile warming system worked. We spent many shifts in the "Mountain" testing the new software for the warfighters. We worked together for 10 years. I learned so much from Dan. We were a great team. When we would test in the missile warning center the crew would refer to us as mr and mrs NORAD. He was the expert that many of us depended on during all situations of testing. And yes, we tried to go to Furrs cafeteria every Friday for fried chicken. What a super nice man. Smart. Patient. Great story teller. Great teacher. He will be missed. RIP Dan.

If you would like help with any matters related to casualty assistance, Defense Finance & Accounting Service, Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP), Veterans Affairs (VA), etc. you can contact our office on Buckley SFB at 720-847-6693. The RAO is staffed by volunteers, all military retirees themselves, and our sole purpose is to provide assistance to any military retirees and surviving spouses/family members with anything related to their military service and/or benefits, in particular during difficult times such as this.
