Q: What will you never forget about Gary? A: We took off from the Springs to go to the RoyalGorge to do some rafting. We put my 4 man raft into the water and the raft turned over, we lost 1 Oar and continued down the Gorge with Gary cussing me out. We came home and he accused me of trying to kill him he not talk for about 6 months. We have spent many times laughing about that day cussing all the way home. Rest in Pease Mac.

I have to say we had many good laughs together. Gary enjoyed my Mother coming over from the uK they would spend many an afternoon together sharing memories. He had a great time visiting with her and her stories. We also got together with friends and neighbors for a monthly cook out to catch up on things going on with our lives Gary Mac you will be so missed by many of us, I know we will see you again. Missing you Hugs. Mo Canady

Rich Kuyper--In recent years our paths seldom crossed so my most vivid memories of Mac go back several decades. I especially recall his thoughtfulness and friendliness to our family (even her kid brother:-) when he was courting my sister. In subsequent years, although we didn't always march to the same drum, I never had an encounter with Mac in which he did not treat me with kindness and respect. Life is not an easy thing and I suspect he had his faults and flaws, as do we all, but at the deepest level I know Mac was a decent soul. May the angels take him home.

Gary was known as Jurg for people that worked with him at ma bell. He was the patriarch of line work for many of us that worked with him. He could do anything related to cable construction & that included aerial cable construction (a master in a set of "hooks") buried cable construction (operating equipment of all kinds, driving trucks as large as you can imagine), and inspecting lesser qualified people doing all of those things as contractors. I will fondly remember "Jurg" as one of my mentors as long as I live. RIP Jurg!

Glen Campbell sang a song the year (1968) we married called Wichita Lineman. Mac was my first love and my Colorado Lineman who braved snow and cold to fix downed phone lines in the mountains. That Lineman and father of my (our) son, Jeff, appreciated a good story and a good laugh. I loved and remember his chuckle.

We've know Gary (Mac) since high school. He was the older, cooler and much bigger guy on a Harley. We became friends when his Jeff and our Jeff became friends. Mac was always friendly and kind, which is a pretty good legacy. The world has lost a really good man.
