Obituary of Celeste Ann Moore

Celeste Moore, of Louisville, Colorado, passed away peacefully and comfortably on Sunday, July 31, 2022 after a brief, yet courageous battle with cancer. She was 84 years old. She was born Celeste Ann Pruesse on August 17, 1937, on the North Side of Chicago, Illinois. Celeste met Howard G. Moore in 1967 in Chicago, and after being stranded in a car together for almost 24 hours on Lake Shore Drive during a snowstorm, they decided they were soul mates. They married shortly thereafter, and lived together in Evanston, Illinois before relocating to Louisville, Colorado in 1991. In the 1960's Celeste worked as a secretary with her fast typing and shorthand skills (think of the TV show Mad Men). She later went on to work in retail at Walgreens for over 25 years. Celeste was a veracious reader and crossword puzzle player in her later years. She would get up in the morning only to spend the first 1 or 2 hours at the kitchen table to complete the new puzzle from the daily paper; a cup of hot tea and graham crackers were the only other things she had to have by her side. Celeste was preceded in death by her loving husband and best friend, Howard in 2019.Celeste is survived by son, Fred Shay of Anthem, Arizona; daughter, Renae Stewart of Colorado Springs; and son-in, law Roy Stewart of Colorado Springs. She is also survived by two grandchildren, cousins, and many others that loved her sharp wit and feisty demeanor. There will be no formal service for Celeste as those were her final wishes. However, her family would cherish notes of condolences and shared memories of her. "Life began with me loving my mother's face"
