David Prusse posted a condolence

Sorry to hear that Celeste passed away just recently. I've been trying to locate her for over a year and a half since I discovered that her father Friedrich Hermann Pruesse was my father's 1st cousin. (Celeste was my 2nd cousin) My family grew up here in Denver Colorado and I never heard my father mention that he had a first cousin in Louisville, CO until 1963. My grandfather Wilhelm Heinrich Prusse (spelling changed during emigration process) (emigrated 1913) was the youngest brother of Celeste's grandfather Heinrich August Hermann Prüsse (anglicized version of Pruesse)(emigrated 1935) -- David Prusse, Lone Tree, CO

My mother was everything to me. Nothing I wouldn't do for her. Near the end of her life, my favorite thing was to give her a warm wash cloth to rub her face with. She would act like this was a spa treatment! Ooohing and ahhing like it was so good. I'd say to her, "it can't be that good", she'd say "yes it was because it comes from love." I will always cherish that.

Celeste was my second mother. I fondly called her Mama and she and Howie (Papa) referred to me as their "second kid"! I was loveingly welcomed into their family when Renae and I became friends at Oakton school in the second grade-early 1970's and continued to be close throughout the years. She will be deeply missed by myself and my family. My greatest relief is that she will be together once again with her beloved husband, best friend and life partner Howie-the love of her life! Rest in heavenly peace Mama and be the guardian angel we need to watch over us. My thoughts, prayers and Love to my sister Renae, Roy and your extended family!

Wow. Thank you for sharing that history. My mom lived in Louisville until 2019. She moved down to Colorado Springs after my dad died.
