I first met Charlie 4 years ago at a Ladies event in my neighborhood. A neighbor saw her walking and initially thought it was me and then invited her to our next ladies party where we met and became instant "sisters". To know Charlie was to know LOVE. She had a way of making every single person she knew feel like you were the most important person to her, and I believe she meant it. She loved big, gave constantly of her time, talents and gifts, adored her two boys and enjoyed her 3 pups. She celebrated life the best way she knew how with friends and family in unique, special and simple ways. Charlie was warm, encouraging, thoughtful, appreciative, beautiful and had the worlds best hugs and smile. I am so grateful for the years I received with such a lovely kind woman and I will miss my friend greatly here in this world. May you find ever lasting peace that guards your heart sweet girl, you have left an imprint on all of our hearts.

Charlie and I met in 2009 and on 1/1/2010 we married and spent the rest of our time together raising two wonderful and amazing boys. She has left a void in the hearts of us all but will never be forgotten. I always told her that the world needed more people like her as she always wanted to make it a better place. She impacted the lives of so many and I truly believe she did leave a lot of people better for having known her. The Cosmic Girl has rejoined the cosmos and I know will enlighten the lives of those she meets in her next cosmic form. In Buddhism there is a saying: "Fashion your life as a garland of beautiful deeds". The meaning of this saying, as I understood it, was that after you have moved on to the next life this garland is the only thing you leave behind. Charlie has left us with a beautiful garland that will never fade.

Char came out for a visit to visit my dad and I was a Senior in Hight School. She came to school with me for the whole day. I also remember going out to dinner with her at Marie Callender's and she ask if we were dressed to go in. I think we were wearing shorts and t-shirts. I told her we were find. In the very short time of only two years that I knew my neighbor Charlie, she was a beacon of light and her friendship was a blessing in my life! This was my wedding in 2003, Wilmington NC . Charlane was living in in Boston then and even though I had not seen her in quite some time she insisted on making the 14 hour drive . I have so many memories from over 40 years of friendship. The summer between 6th and 7th grade what we made up a play all summer long. Bouncing M & Ms off the ceiling and memorizing the ingredients on the back of the Doritos bag one day when we were bored. Spending a month in Maryland at my Aunt and Uncle's house in Maryland when we were 14. Char doing my nails the night before my wedding. Going on a Duck Tour in Boston and getting our palms read in Salem. Surprising her on her 45th birthday. And the final time I saw her just a few short weeks before she died. Her name is imprinted on my heart.

My deepest condolences to Charlie's children, other family members and friends. She and I were classmates in our youth, and although did not spend exclusive time together in those years or throughout adulthood, we did have a friendship over Facebook. And this past year we had healing conversations about experiences in life both of us had similarly experienced. She was quite remarkable, loving, reflective, and wise. My mom and Char were best friends growing up so naturally my childhood consisted of summer days running around Anna Maria Island at Ted and Cheryl's beach house. While we weren't related by blood, she was always my Aunt Char. I love Char and am incredibly sad that she is gone.
