I am Eric's Dad, and I could easily fill this book with memories of our son, but here is one I''ll always remember... I remember just before Eric graduated from Doherty High School, and they had their very last concert. I had my VHS camera ready and recorded everything, but to this day I have no idea where that recording is. At some point during the concert, trumpeters were up in the rafters playing, which included Eric and his friend Bill Bratner. Then, Eric came out on stage and started rapping. Eric and Elena were always good friends with their band leader, Mr. Patterson, but still, this was surprising. Then at the end when they came out to play their last song, the music director wasn't Mr. Patterson, it was Eric. I quickly positioned myself on the side of the stage with my camera and they started playing the theme to Robin Hood by Bryan Adams. At crescendos, Eric would wave his arms and jump in the air. It was an amazing performance by everyone, "that's my boy".
