I am a neighbor and only knew Joan briefly, but she always lifted my spirits with her kind and warm smile. She will be missed here at the apartment complex where she lived for 18 years. It was a joy seeing her care for her flowers, walk her little dog Molly, and often nap in the warm sun. Everyone here who knew her will miss her. But, God called her home and we are all at peace. We pray for our Loved Ones after their death "because we still hold them in our love, and because we trust in God's presence those who have chosen to serve him will grow in his love, until they see him as he is." The communion of saints is the whole family of God, the living and the dead, those whom we love and those whom we hurt, bound together in Christ by sacrament, prayer, and praise. Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend to you Joan Rammes. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, a sheep of your own fold, a lamb of your own flock, a sinner of your own redeeming. Receive them into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.
