I met Mary almost 50 years ago, through Gary, on a snowy/blizzard night in the Springs. I had the honor of being the best man at their wedding. There was no better fit for Gary. We lost contact for a few year but reconnected as if time had not passed. She was a beautiful light in this world and the world is a little darker now. I will truly miss her, her smile, and her laugh. May she rest peacefully with the Lord. Love from Aethoes to Constance.

I was lucky to meet Mary at Kate's wedding and so happy I did because she was the sweetest human with the biggest heart. Her love for her family, her grandchildren, her dog Maggie and her husband was heartwarming and palpable. It makes sense why I love this family so much, because they were raised by such a wonderful mother and person. Mary's kind heart will live on through her family and will never be lost. Mary I just wanted to say goodbye again and share a couple thoughts. While you were taken from the family way too soon you did what you needed to while you were here. You were a great Mom who raised three wonderful children. That was clearly your calling and what you were here to do. You were a Mom to more than just your own kids and made this world a little bit better place. You were a genuinely kind and honest person and that is a rarity in this world. You were also Moms best friend and will leave a hole in her life and heart that can never be filled. While you suffered through too many health problems and loss in your life you handled it with dignity and grace and always put your family first. That was clearly evident and even at the end your Love for your family shone through. We Love you and will miss you Sis. Tom & Cindy, Justin, Ivy, Annsley & Mason, Kyla & Tyler.

Kate and I have been friends for 20 years. I remember going over to her parent's home to get ready to go out for the night, and Mary was always so sweet to me. She knew I had a little boy at the time ( my oldest now who's 23) and always asked about him. I remember sitting with Mary, while Kate was upstairs, and just talking about anything and everything that was going on in life at that moment. I think she truly respected me, and knew that Kate was in good hands. Over the years I had a chance to see Mary a couple of times when she would come to Nebraska for special occasions. Anytime I was able to attend them, she would still get so excited to see me. It was truly heartwarming❤ She will be missed by so many of us that had the pleasure of knowing her. Heaven is gaining a beautiful soul.

my grandma was my favorite babysitter that i ever had. i remember we always got very creative and would play hot potato with a real potato that we would put in the microwave. i also remember we would go to the store and by cranberry white chocolate scones and would eat the whole thing in one sitting and then play frisbee with the lid. and she gave me my first ice cream sundae ever and that's when she became my favorite person. my grandma was also my biggest fan and would always leave me such sweet voicemails that i will continue to listen to. you will be so missed and i love you always, i will miss calling you when my mom is being rude and comforting me and reminding me that she was a kid once too and did things way worse than me❤️

I have so many wonderful memories of Mary. One time in high school my mom was very sick and my dad was working in Iowa. Mary made me an entire lasagna and a huge pot of chili. She was the reason I ate and survived! Mary would come over and visit with me to make sure I was doing ok during that time. Her generosity and kindness made such a large impact on me. I also remember when Katie and I were roommates. Mary would come over to babysit Emma…which often meant she would babysit me. These were simple moments that I now cherish. I also have such great memories of Mary's movie collection. It was unlike anything I had ever seen. But her movie knowledge was even more impressive. Mary could recall a movie or an actor at the drop of a hat. There is also the time I got to escort Mary down the aisle at Katie and Scott's wedding. It was a special moment that I got to share with Mary. One that I hold very dear. I am going to miss her deeply.

When she was last in Nebraska, the week before Thanksgiving, we were at the state football championship match to watch Emma dance and we had went to use the restroom. She was taking a while and when she finally was done she said "I pee-peed in the potty!"
