Obituary of Enid Marie Lindsey

With much sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Enid Marie Lindsey on February 7, 2024 at the age of 94 surrounded by her children in Colorado Springs.

Enid was born October 6, 1929 in Sanford, Colorado to Willard Richard and Maggie Jane (Hutchins) Miller.

Enid graduated from Sanford H.S. and soon after received her cosmetology license from a college in Albuquerque, NM. In 1950, she married Wayne Lindsey of Kewanee, IL. Enid and Wayne were sealed in marriage at the LDS Temple in Mesa, AZ. They were together 47 years until Wayne’s passing in 1997. They spent 30 years traveling the world with the US Air Force visiting all 50 states and 24 countries. They resided in 10 states, as well as Okinawa Japan, and The Netherlands.

Enid’s endless curiosity, spirit of adventure, gift of storytelling, and her extraordinary humor made her the person people loved to be around.

She will be fondly remembered by her friends, be it as a telephone operator supervisor, military base Rod and Gun Club manager, and as an avid bowler. She spent 30+ years as a charity volunteer for military college scholarships through the Peterson SFB Spouses’ Club (Officers’ Wives Auxiliary), whereby she earned multiple awards and recognitions.

Most of all, she loved taking vacations, cruises, and road trips with her family. They cherish the many years of always “seeking pleasure” together.

Enid is survived by her three children, Rae (Roger decd.) Butz, Rex Wayne, Roxann Tooke; five grandchildren, Ryan (Jen), Roderic (Katlin), Brett Roger, Sean (Lucia), Ashley (Travis); and seven loved great-grandchildren.

Enid was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, her parents Willard and Maggie Miller, and siblings Voris (Dwayne) Cornum, Herman (Mary June) Miller, Morris (Lois) Miller and Janice (Carl) Bodley.

Mom, you’re an inspiration to our family through your love of life, love of music and dance, and love of us. Thank you for being our Mom.

No local services are planned. Interment will be held later in Sanford, CO. Condolences may sent directly to the family or left at Spring Funeral Services website.
