Obituary of Sandra Tamisa Dawson
Sandra Tamisa Jackson-Dawson passed away peacefully in her bed on January 24, 2024, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Sandra was born March 25, 1963, in Phenix City, Alabama to Julia Mae (Lyles) Warthaw and Sylvester Jackson.
Sandra spent much of her childhood traveling the world as a military child. She would recall stories about running away in Paris and riding the trains in Germany. At her heart, she was a country girl.
She enjoyed watching movies, whopping people in spades, and spending time with her family. Anyone who spent time with Sandra knew she had this way of being brutally honest with a heart of gold.
Sandra’s light shined everywhere she went, from ENT to Safeway to her work. She exuded love and compassion. She was a devoted worker. She spent 10 years working at Minco Manufacturing and spent her last days as a pivotal member at UTC Aerospace Systems.
There are so many words that can be used to describe Sandra, but a few best capture her essence: mom, real, warm, and most importantly, she felt like home. Sandra was our angel who spent years loving, caring, and protecting her family and friends. She was known to feed and house anyone in need. To many, she is known as their second mom and a saving grace.
Sandra is survived by her mother, Julia Warthaw; her 6 children, Lakillia (Kia), Terrence Sr. (Donta), Amesa (Mesa), Deonsha (Shay), Mercedes (Mookie), and Katasha (Tashie); her siblings, Sreginald (Terry) Dawson, Tammie Jackson and Sylvester Jackson Jr.; and 10 grandchildren, Nakya, Terrance Jr., Lakeel, Diamond, Joesyis, Ki’Sean, Ja’Maree, Ja’Mareea, Zanyila, and Samiya.
