Obituary of Eugene Walter Sanders Jr.

Eugene Walter Sanders Jr. passed away peacefully on January 22,2024 at the age of 80. 
He was born in Santa Rosa, California to the union of Eugene Walter Sanders Sr. And Pauline Sanders. 
Eugene accepted his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ when he was baptized in Colorado Springs at Circle Drive Baptist Church. This is also where he married his lifelong partner, Beverly. These ceremonies were completed by Pastor Lewis Adkison and Pastor Bill Austin both of Circle Drive Baptist Church.
John 3:16 KJV For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Gene graduated from Montgomery High school in Santa Rosa, California, where he was a member of the basketball team. His brother-in-law Vaughn Ager had a race car team in Black Forest Colorado that Gene was involved with. Gene liked to go hunting and fishing as well. Gene was a proud member of the United States Air Force, where he was first stationed at the Airforce Academy. His place of entry into the war was at the Colorado Springs Airforce Academy. Gene served during the Vietnam war 1967-1969 with the ending rank of Staff Sergeant receiving an honorable discharge. After the war Gene worked in the construction field running heavy equipment where he was well known as a great hand. Gene retired in 2003. Eugene was a humble and hardworking man always providing for his family. 
He leaves behind his brother Wally Sanders and sister Cherie Franklin. He also leaves to cherish his memories to wife Beverly Sanders; son, Johnnie Sanders; daughter, Shannon Frank; grandchildren, Justin Frank, Chase Frank, and Quinn Sanders, along with two great grandchildren.
He is Loved and will be greatly missed by family and friends! Please keep us in your prayers and thoughts. No service is planned at this time. Many blessings to all"
