Obituary of Melissa Ford (Schlett)

Melissa “Missy” Ford (Schlett), 50, of Colorado Springs, Colorado left us unexpectedly on December 29, 2023, in a car accident.

Missy was born August 24, 1973, in Gaylord, Michigan to Cheryl Gines and Roger Schlett and grew up in South Boardman, Michigan, where she met her high school sweetheart, Richard Ford (51) while attending Forest Area High School. They got married in 1994 and later welcomed daughters Lydia (28) and Gracie (24). 

She was an incredibly loving mother and wife and prioritized spending time with her family over anything. She was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, enjoyed fishing, camping, shooting, cooking, western dancing, and watching the Detroit Red Wings. Her laugh was infectious and lit up the entire room.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; daughters, Lydia and Gracie; mother, Cheryl; stepmother, Barbara; brother, Jake; sisters, Sue and Kari; and countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends and is already very missed.
