Obituary of Jean Lousie Nordberg

Jean Louise Nordberg (neé Wilson), 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on October 7, 2023 in Colorado Springs. Jean was born on October 6, 1942 to Dorothy L. Wilson (neé Haydock) and Robert J.M. Wilson in Lynn, Massachusetts.

Jean went to high school at Classical High School in Lynn Massachusetts and graduated on June 10, 1960. She went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs in August of 1990 and worked in many career positions helping people to maintain health, safety and well-being. She worked with individuals with disabilities, with the elderly and with children during her career.

Jean was a kind, thoughtful and generous person who was deeply committed to human and animal rights.

Jean is survived by her three children, Kim Louise Nordberg-Fickas, David William Nordberg, and Jillian Elizabeth Smith. She is also survived by her son-in-law, Richard Daniel Fickas, her grandchildren Zachary Daniel Fickas and Jynessica Tempest Smith, and her great grandson, Samuel Artorias McDaniel.

Jean is also survived by her sister, Anne Butman, her brother, Paul Colbath, and her cousins, Ruth Dorrough and Ann Laramie.

Jean is deeply missed.
