Janet Guerra

Obituary of Janet Marie Guerra

Janet Marie Guerra departed from us on December 15th, 2023. She was a native of Colorado Springs born on September 22 1950. At St. Francis Hospital. Her maiden name was Samsel.

Also known by Janette, during her lifetime she attended Helen Hunt Elementary, South Jr. High, and Palmer High School. After high school she married and moved to Lansing MIchigan. There she gave birth to her oldest son Chris Guerra in 1973, and she gave birth to her youngest son Jason Guerra in 1977, only having two children. She was divorced in 1984 that's when she moved back to Colorado Springs with her two sons to renew their future.

She worked at Montgomery Wards for over 15 years, then Circuit City, and Office Depot. She was known to her son's friends by Miss.G. She was loved by everyone that came into contact with her. Known for her holiday spirit she loved walking up to aunt Lilly’s on the 4th of july to see the fireworks, or going all out on the decorations for halloween. But she always loved hosting the Christmas parties every year keeping our family traditions going. She enjoyed the drive up to Cripple Creek and the company of her sister Pinky to try and win big.

Before she left this world she felt loved and was with her family. She was proud of her sons and their families. Even with battling cancer the last part of her life she always kept us going with laughter, staying strong, patient, confident, calming, caring, and loving. She will be missed, she will be loved and never be forgotten as she lives through all of us, and as long as we all have that one memory of her that's all we need to keep her memory alive. Until we meet again, protect and watch over us all.

She is survived by her oldest son Chris Guerra, his four children Angel Guerra, Marianna Guerra, Christian Guerra, and Gavin Guerra. And her youngest son Jason Guerra, his wife Yolonda Guerra and their three children Raythen Guerra, Devin Guerra, and Samaira Guerra. She had eight beautiful great grandchildren Neveah, Bella, Lilly, Melanie, Aeneas, Aleah, Adrian, and Jeremiah. Her siblings Johnny Vallejo, and Lucille “Pinky” Casteneda
