Obituary of Shannon Marie Morse
Shannon Marie (Royal) Morse, 39, entered her Lord’s presence September 4, 2023.
She was born October 18, 1983 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado to proud parents Jamie and Denise Royal.
She is remembered with love and admiration for her courage, faith, joy, laughter, encouragement, creativity, wisdom, compassion, forgiveness, peace, endurance, and unconditional love. Her smile, perseverance, and optimism amazed all who met her. She was wise beyond her years as she counseled, prayed for, and laughed or cried with others. She exemplified unbiased love, giving, and peace.
After a recovering alcoholic showed Shannon truth in God’s word, she prayed a simple prayer, “God none of us meet your standard for holiness. Yes, I’m a sinner. Thank You for sending your son lived a sinless life, was crucified, and rose from the dead. Please forgive my sin. I give you control over my life.” In that instant God forgave her and wrote her name In His book of life!
Shannon worked with children at multiple daycares including Hope and Home, the UCCS Family Development Center, as well as other facilities in the Colorado Springs and Phoenix areas.
She sponsored numerous women while going to Narcotics Anonymous in Colorado Springs, Phoenix, and Tucson as well as Sober Riders.
In 2013, she pioneered an experimental medical procedure an auto pancreatic islet cell transplant. Although the surgery was successful, many more followed and unending pain. Shannon’s profound faith enabled her to endure more trials than seemed humanly possible.
She was preceded in death by cousin, Karen Royal; father, Jamie Royal; Grandfather, Jim Royal; and Uncle, Bob Royal.
