Obituary of Louise Elizabeth Welsh
Louise Elizabeth Welsh, 34, of Colorado Springs, CO, passed peacefully, after a brief illness, on October 25th surrounded by her family.
She was born in Englewood, Colorado in 1989 to Keith and Amy Welsh. Growing up, she lived and attended school in California and Maryland. She was a skilled athlete and participated in team sports that included swimming, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse.
She worked in Washington, DC as a bartender and a server. In the summer of 2019, she moved to Colorado Springs. She earned her CNA at Pikes Peak Community College while working at various establishments as a bartender and server including Shame and Regret, Westside Cantina, and others.
Louise was a vibrant individual who radiated positivity and warmth. Her resilience was a defining trait, as she faced life's challenges with a can-do attitude and an unwavering spirit.
Her caring nature extended to those she encountered, as she made it a point to look out for the well-being of others. Louise was the kind of person who always offered a helping hand and a listening ear, making her a cherished friend and confidant.
But what truly set Louise apart was her insatiable appetite for life. She embraced every moment with enthusiasm and gusto, savoring the simple pleasures and celebrating the big milestones. She had an infectious energy that encouraged those around her to live life to the fullest and seize the day.
She was preceded in death by James Brown, her maternal grandfather. She is survived by her daughter, Lucia Welsh; Lucia’s father, Rens Erickson; her sisters, Rachel Welsh, Jackie Welsh and Margaret Welsh; her parents, Keith and Amy Welsh; her paternal grandparents, Richard and Pearl Welsh and her maternal grandmother, Joyce Brown.
Funeral Service, 2:00PM, Monday, November 20, 2023, Grace and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 601 North Tejon, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80903.
A reception and celebration of life will follow at Shame and Regret, 15 E. Bijou St., Suite C, Colorado Springs, CO. (Enter the alley off Bijou between Tejon and Cascade streets.)
