Obituary of Joe B. Sanchez

Joe B. Sanchez passed peacefully from this life into the loving arms of our Lord Jesus Christ Saturday, November 4, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born November 8, 1938 to parents Daniel and Gavinta Sanchez in Chama, Colorado. He moved to Colorado Springs after graduating High School in 1961. He began his career with Widefield Homes in 1962. Joe continued working for Widefield Homes for over 50 years where he met many of his oldest friends and touched many lives.    

He married Rita Jaramillo in March of 1962. They moved to Security, Colorado in 1964 where they raised four children. Joe enjoyed spending time in the mountains camping and teaching his family how to fish. He showed his love and patience while untangling fishing lines over and over again.

Joe was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He loved his family. He is survived by his wife, Rita; his children, Jody (Karl), Alan (Mary), Lawrence, and Margy (Alan); 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and countless nephews, nieces, and extended family. 

He is preceded in death by his mother and father; his brothers Evan and Manuel Sanchez; and his sisters Estella Sanchez and Sadie Espinoza. 

Joe was a treasure to his family and all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
