Obituary of Buel Leland James

Buel Leland "B.L." James II was born in Charleston, West Virginia on November 24, 1947 to Buel and Loretta James.

B.L. served in the United States Army from November 1967 to February 1969 and was a part of the 101st Airborne in the Vietnam war. After returning from war, B.L. had multiple jobs and careers. B.L. was a firefighter in the Belle, West Virginia volunteer fire department. He also became an instructor for fellow firefighters. B.L. also served as a paramedic in his community of Belle, West Virginia. He then went on to become a truck driver for UPS. 

In 1976, B.L. met and later married the love of his life, Lynn Plantz. He continued in trucking for various companies. Most importantly, B.L. went into ministry as a senior pastor and participated in prison ministries. B.L. graduated from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1982. He went on to pastor churches in West Virginia, Texas, Colorado, and Montana. He also authored two books, "Nothing but the Blood" and "Tongues: A Revelation from God."

B.L. was preceded in death by his father, Buel Leland James I; and his mother, Loretta James.

B.L. was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and always loved time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his children, Kim (Mike) Christian, Brian (Jenny) James, Scott (Erin) James, and Theresa James; and his grandchildren, Danielle, Brandon, Reyna, Alaina, and Grayson. He is also survived by two sisters, Diane Hess and Luella (Glen) Ginn. 

B.L. passed away at his home in Colorado Springs on October 26, 2023. He is free of pain and gets to find his rest in the presence of God.
