Edwina Bennett

Obituary of Edwina Sue Bennett

Edwina Sue Fausett Bennett, 85, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her family on October 23rd, 2023.

Edwina was born to Eddie Smith Fausett and Lawana Moore Fausett on January 5th, 1938, in Duncan, Oklahoma.

She was the proud mother of Susan Shapard Biggs, David (Vicki) Shapard III, and Elizabeth Shapard. She was blessed with 7 grandsons. She cherished her role as “Mia” to her grandchildren. She was raised with her twin sister, Erol Linda Agnos in Oklahoma City and graduated from Central High School where she was the Football Queen in 1955 and 1956! She attended Oklahoma State University and pledged Alpha Chi Omega. Married twice, her true love was Gerald Webb Bennett, who precedes her. In 40 years of marriage, they traveled the globe and enjoyed the finer things in life together. Splitting time between Colorado Springs and Palm Springs, Edwina was an avid tennis player, enjoyed golf, bridge and loved entertaining. She was called “Boomer Ed’ because of her powerful forehand and she often entertained guests with a little toe and shuffle dressed like a bumblebee!

Edwina was a woman of faith and loved our Lord Jesus Christ. She cherished her time in Bible study and knew without a doubt that her transition was to Heaven.

Her true gift was bringing her family together for the holidays, creating lasting memories. If you ever met Edwina, you would know her as one of the kindest, loving, caring and the most forgiving woman you ever met. Additionally, she had an outstanding sense of humor.

She was the beloved twin sister of Erol Linda, affectionally referred to as her ‘womb mate’. There is no greater gift in life than to have a twin. They had a wonderful life and extraordinary times together. Edwina was loved without measure by her entire family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Gerald Webb Bennett; and brother Eddie Smith Fausett Jr.

She is survived by her twin sister; her children; all her grandchildren, Dakota, Jackson, Travis, Chandler, Beckett, Jameson and Maxwell; and an adoring host of nieces and nephews, whom she loved unconditionally.
