Shirley leaves to grieve her passing, her Husband James Sr.; daughter Dawn; son James Jr. (Ronnie); daughter in-law Mykala; and son in-law LeRoy;
grandchildren, Albraden, Sarah-Dyamond, Athena-Fallon, Alexis, Brandon, Marcus and Michelle, *Alecia, *Breeanna and *Mikki-Lashell; great-grandchildren, Heavyn, Malyki, Lundynn, Joziyah, Zaniyah, Zyra, Ava, Elijah, Leilani, and Abigail, *Amoni and *Za’Myah; nieces, Letidda, Kimia, Miesha, Hope, Rashunda, Renesha, Robin, Tyler, Kendall and *Debbie; and nephews, Robert Jr., Gerald Jr., and (preceded in death) Anthony Jr.
On April 22nd, 1978, Shirley married James Ronald Williams who was serving in the United States air Force and began a life of travel and adventure. No one would ever see one without seeing the other, they were truly joined at the hip. To their union they had a son, James Jr, (Ronnie). When Shirley married James, she gained another family; mother in-law Mary (“Madea”, preceded in death); brothers in-law, Glenn and Reuben; sisters in-law, Caroly, *Margrett Ann and Doris Jean; nieces, Shani and Nichole; and nephews Reginald, David, Glenn Gerald and Reuben Jr.
Shirley attended Markham Junior High School and graduated in 1967 from David Starr Jordan High School in Watts (Los Angeles) California. Shirley later pursued an education in Culinary Arts at Los Angeles Southwest College.
Shirley was Baptized at an early age. Once moving to Colorado Springs, she found a Church home in Payne Chaple African Methodist Episcopal Church (A.M.E.) and began serving the Lord as a member of the Usher Board. Shirley served with pride and devotion.
Shirley was a giving and generous person. Christmas was her favorite holiday, simply because it allowed her at least one time of the year to lavish her love upon her family and anyone that she considered a friend with gifts from her heart. If you came to her family’s home on the holidays you were sure to receive a great southern meal and a gift, even if she had just met you. Shirley believed everyone should have something to unwrap on Christmas, no matter how big or small the gift. This was her way, and it truly attributed to her beauty.
Shirley, you are truly “Loved” and will forever be in our hearts.
Love Always with all that we are, your daughter Dawn and your son Ronnie.
