Very sad. The Ward family was so instrumental to HSD 2 school district. Rich grew up with all the HHS and SHS staff. Rich was like a giant sense of laughter and was accepting to all. When he walked into a room, most friends or people knew him or wanted to for his vibrant personality. Sending much love and prayers.

I worked with Rich’s dad for most of my professional career and got to know Rich through his father. I became even better acquainted with Rich when one of his best friends, Blue Anderson, joined my coaching staff. I always enjoyed my interactions with Rich and am quite saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his mother, brother, wife, daughter and his many close friends

While I won't be able to attend the funeral services, Rich will forever hold a special place in my heart. The memories of working alongside Rich, engaging in frequent conversations, and playing golf together will always be cherished. Rich had an exceptional ability to connect with others and was consistently there as a source of support, genuinely caring for me and my family. I'll deeply miss you, my friend, and you will always have a special place in my heart.

Rich was a great guy. Always happy and enjoying life. I remember he was always happy in our math class. Used to piss me off cause we had such a pain in the butt teacher and I couldn’t understand how he was always happy. I was frustrated and mad. But it also helped us make it through it. He will be greatly missed.
