David Sire

Obituary of David Lee Sire

David “Dave” Lee Sire, 72, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and best friend, passed away on October 18, 2023 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Dave was born in Great Falls, Montana on December 17, 1950, and while growing up, worked on the family farm. He went on to achieve a master’s degree in chemical engineering from Montana State University. After working in the engineering field for over 34 years, he returned to his roots in farming at the D&D Sire Farms in Geraldine, Montana.

Dave lived life to the fullest. His was a life filled with passion. He enjoyed refereeing sports of all types and did so for 48 years! His hobbies not only included sports; he was also a fervent collector, chasing collectibles of all sorts, such as comics and trading cards, with a passion that would then ignite that same flame in thousands of others. And Dave lives on in all of them!

Above all else, it could be said that Dave was an incredibly devoted husband and friend. He would do anything to protect those he loved and would VERY often go out of his way by incredible lengths for said loved ones.

With his one-of-a-kind personality, and certainly one-of-a-kind sense of humor, Dave will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Joyce Sire; son, Kyle Sire; and brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Jennea Sire.

He is survived by his wife, Margo; children, Kacie (Tyrone) Hoard, and Ryan (Coley) Sire; stepkids, Rob Brown, and Jeni (Troy) Torres; grandkids, Taylor, Taj, Tayvian, Teagen, Teayona, Tylee, Ryker, Dayson, and Kayven; great-grandchild, Quincy; and best friend, Michael.
