Obituary of Mary and Eric Simmons

Eric Raymond Simmons passed away in Tucson, AZ June 23, 2022, at age 78.  

Eric grew up in Gibsonia, PA and married his high school sweetheart, Mary (Mimi).  Eric and Mimi moved to the Chicago area to start a family and then to Colorado Springs where they raised their two children Emily and Matthew.  

Eric diligently put his family first.  He loved getting together for dinner events, loved to play golf, and was a staunch sports fan.  His smile and sense of humor were appreciated by family and many friends.  

Eric’s parents preceded him in death.  

Eric is survived by his daughter Emily of Colorado Springs, CO; and grandchildren Nicholas and Eliana; his son Matthew of Wheat Ridge, CO; his brother Paul of Mars, PA; and his brother Mark.

Mary (Mimi) Elizabeth Simmons passed away in Colorado Springs, CO September 17, 2023, at age 77.

Mimi grew up in Gibsonia, PA and married her high school sweetheart, Eric (Rick).  Rick and Mimi moved to the Chicago area to start a family and then to Colorado Springs where they raised their two children Emily and Matthew.  Mimi started most days with a long walk and was an avid walker her entire life.  She enjoyed golf, loved to cook, and having been a music teacher earlier in life, Mimi loved listening to music.  

Mimi’s parents and brother Bob preceded her in death.  

Mimi is survived by her daughter Emily of Colorado Springs, CO; and grandchildren Nicholas and Eliana; her son Matthew of Wheat Ridge, CO; and her sister Martha, of Chapel Hill, NC.
