Obituary of Shirley Jean Riggs

Shirley Riggs was born on March 14th, 1962, to Sidney and Anna Williams in Kansas City, Missouri. 

She is survived by her siblings Johnson Leigh and Ruth Williams; her grandchildren, Faith Bracey, Joseph Bracey, Jermaine Bracey Jr., and Javaun Bracey; along with her great-grandchildren, Jav’lia Santos and A’lani Bracey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Anna Williams; husband, Charles Riggs; sister, Ella Jones; brothers, Pedro Leigh and Dewitt Patterson; children, Jermaine Bracey Sr. and Joseph Burrel; and many other friends and loved ones that were there to greet her when she opened Heaven’s door.

Shirley graduated from Harrison High School; she loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, gambling, crafting, and cooking. She had a passion for making personalized gift baskets for special occasions and events.

Whenever you saw Shirley, she would have a pickle in her purse and a cup of ice in her hand. Shirley was always the life of the party. Everyone that knows her has their own story that they will share and embrace for their lifetime. 

Shirley was easy to talk to and was truly loved by her friends, family, and the community. She will truly be missed.
