Obituary of Robert H Meyer

Robert H. Meyer, 78, passed away on August 10, 2023, at home.

Robert was born on March 27, 1945, in North Tonawanda, New York to Ruth S. and Sherman Leo Meyer (killed in W.W.II).

He served in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1965. Upon leaving the Navy he worked as a machinist before he began his apprenticeship with Carpenters Union NO. 1913 in San Fernando, California on June 21, 1972. This led to his future with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with assignments to locations around the world. This included travel to Fort Irwin, California to Fort Carson and Pueblo Chemical Depot, Colorado to Fort Drum, New York, to Kuwait City, Kuwait, to Yankton, South Dakota. Even in retirement Robert continued to serve as a rehired annuitant for the Corps of Engineers.

Motorcycles were his passion when the call of hunting faded. He loved tinkering with the bikes, perfecting their performance to the max.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Sherman Meyer; stepfather, Joseph Andrew Krechnyak; brother, Sherman Meyer; second wife, Linda.

Robert is survived by his loving third wife of 35 years, Cindy S. Meyer Mcmanaman of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and daughter Mandy N. Meyer (Bleys A-Focht) of Anchorage, Alaska.

Other survivors include first wife, Elizabeth; daughter Deborah Mullins of Manchester, Tennessee; sons, Robert A. Meyer (Lisa) of Manchester, Tennessee, and Dean Wallace Meyer; stepbrother, Drew Krechnyak (Sandy) California; stepsister, Susan Krechnyak (Norman Bixby) of Rosamond, California; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
