Obituary of Darrell Lawran Flanery

Darrell Lawran Flanery, 82, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away August 17, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

He was born October 7, 1940 to William L. and Edna M. Flanery in Pontiac, Michigan.

Darrell attended high school at Pontiac Northern.  

Darrell worked as a truck and bus mechanic for General Motors Corporation for 32 years.  He studied and received a Journeyman Truck Repair certification with GMC.  After retiring from GMC, he moved to Arizona and drove school buses for Desert School District.

Darrell enjoyed cars, and spending time with those that he loved.  Darrell was a dedicated Christian, and found joy in sending daily scriptures to family and friends.  

He was a kind and caring husband, father, and grandfather.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Flanery of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and his son, Randy Flanery of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

A private family Celebration of Life will be held in October.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, one of Darrell’s preferred charities.
