Obituary of Sheila Kaye Morgan
Sheila Kaye Morgan (Haugen) born on November 16th, 1961, passed away on August 18th, 2023.
She was born in Rockford, Illinois where she stayed until her family moved to Janesville, Wisconsin.
During high school she met and married Edward Burkhamer. After two duty stations, the Army brought her and her family to Colorado Springs in 1983.
Sheila spent 10 years working in various positions at the Officer’s Club at Peterson Air Force Base. She then moved on to HP/Agilent in 1994, where she met her now husband James Morgan. After Agilent transitioned out of Colorado Springs, in 2005, Sheila found and dedicated herself at Tech for Less where she remained employed until her passing.
Sheila loved many things. She loved to shop and find good deals, but thrifting at the ARC was her favorite. She loved to garden, her green thumb was represented both inside and outside her home. Decorating for holidays and seasons was one of her favorite things. She had boxes and boxes of decorations, a lot of which reflected her crafting bug. She and Jim spent many weekends camping with their families and traveling to National Parks over the years. Sheila enjoyed spoiling babies, if she heard someone was pregnant, she went crazy with generosity. She treated all her kids’ friends like they were her own. Sheila would do anything to help someone in need, no one she knew would go without. Football season brought football pools and cheering on both the Denver Broncos and her home team the Green Bay Packers.
Sheila was proceeded in death by her mother, Phyllis; her brothers, Steven and Scott; and Stepson, Jimmy.
Sheila is survived by her husband, James Morgan of 17 years; daughters, Sommer (Shawn) Kastl, Samantha (Gary) Baller and Severina (Michael) Brooks; stepson, Robert (Amber) Morgan; father, Bruce Haugen; sister, Sue (Greg) Heintz; grandchildren, Austin (Alyssa), Hunter, Caitlin, Sophea, Sienna, Seth, Sara and Jamie; great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She will be missed dearly by all her family and friends.
