Obituary of Rene "Dennis" Gregoire

Rene “Dennis” Gregoire, October 7, 1932 to August 11, 2023.

Dennis was known for his sense of humor, a love of tradition and family, and a joyful interest in all sports, especially basketball and baseball. 

He was born and grew up in Champlain, New York in a large Catholic family. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years then completed a Bachelor’s Degree at Weber State University, and another career in the Civil Services in Utah. While in the Air Force, he lived in Texas, Morocco, Vermont, England, Alaska, New Mexico, Colorado and Utah. He retired in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Adams; his parents, Flore Anna Bouchard and Honorius Gregoire; and 11 of his siblings, including Gertrude, Maurice (Mike), Gerard, Marcel, Leo, Emile, Pauline, Jean (Johnny), Jeanne, Donald and Doris.  

He is survived by his daughter Jeanine Colburn; his sons Dennis Gregoire (Lisa) and Mark Gregoire (Mindy); his sister Rita Johnson; his grandchildren Matthew Colburn, Daniel Colburn, Allison Colburn (John Witthaus), Michael Gregoire (Caroline), Christopher Gregoire (Angelica), Andrew Gregoire (Julie), Amanda Melcher (Peter), Dacia Coddington (Eric), Destiny Adams, Caden Gregoire; his step-grandson Broc East (Sarah); and his great-grandchildren Dylan Melcher, Liam Melcher, Amelia Melcher, Max Coddington, Wes Coddington, Hadley Gregoire, Leo Gregoire, Charlie Gregoire, Richard Gregoire, Addison East and Autumn East. 

He will be buried at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on August 29, 2023.
