Obituary of Helen Louise (Pinckney) Burleson

Helen Pinckney Burleson passed away August 17, 2023 at Penrose Hospital. 

Helen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  

She loved fishing, gardening, watching baseball with her husband Jerry, flower arranging, and decorating especially in Southwest décor.  

Helen was born in Lynn Haven, Florida to Joseph and Alvie (Keel) Pinckney on September 14, 1936.  

She married the love of her life Jerry Burleson on May 20, 1955. She and Jerry traveled all over the world with Jerry’s career in the United States Air Force. They made Colorado Springs their home.  

Helen was an assistant manager at Woolco Department Store.    

Helen is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Burleson; daughters, Debra Lesar and Patricia Johnson; grandchildren, Jennifer Neumann, Jeffrey Neumann, Henry (Jessica) Johnson and Andrew Neumann; great-grandchildren, Troy Mott, Tyler Mott, Reagan Johnson, and Jameson Johnson.  

A special mention to Vernon and Jennie Neumann.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Alvie (Keel) Pinckney.  

Helen will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.  

Graveside service, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, date to be determined.
