Obituary of Little Frank Bloom
Little Frank Bloom, 78, of Colorado Springs, passed away on August 4, 2023 after a short battle with cancer.
Frank was born on November 10, 1944 to RF and Ethel (Dedman) Bloom in Colorado Springs, CO. Frank graduated from Wasson High School in 1962. Frank was a life long resident of Colorado Springs.
Frank worked as a Supervisor for the City of Colorado Springs and retired after 22 years. Frank founded Blooms Trucking after retiring from the city. In 1970, Frank met Scheryl Dilts, and they wed in 1972, together they raised five children, Penny Miller (David), Tom Bouziden, Bob Bloom, Dondi Ahlers (Dennis), Brenda Laitinen, and Little Frank Bloom II.
Frank was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.
Frank was also passionate about his old-time country music, classic cars and could often be found sitting outside enjoying the fresh air and people watching.
Anyone who knew Frank knew that he never met a stranger. Frank always made sure to introduce himself and have a chat with everyone that he met. Frank was known for picking up the meal check for our men and women in uniform, if he met them in a restaurant. He was a devout Christian, deeply dedicated to his belief.
Frank was predeceased in death by his mother and father and two brothers, XO Bloom and Jim Bloom and a grandchild, Shannon Bouziden.
Frank is survived by his wife and five children, two sisters, fifteen grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren.
