Obituary of Sharon Elaine Buroughs
Sharon Elaine (Clark) Buroughs, 76, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on July 25, 2023, with her family and friends by her side.
She was born to the late Harvey and Bertha Clark on November 11, 1946, in Houston, Texas. Sharon graduated from Memorial high School, class of 1963, and from Keys Cosmetology School, class of 1965.
She married Perry Lynn Buroughs on June 15, 1968, at the Antlers Plaza Hotel in the El Paso Room in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They lived in Houston for thirty-six more years before relocating to the Texas Hill Country. They then moved back to Colorado Springs in 2002.
Sharon was an accomplished hairstylist and artist. Her work included that of porcelain china painting, oil painting, ceramic painting, crochet, knitting, cross-stitch, tatting, and custom framing. She taught various art classes over numerous years in Texas and Colorado. Sharon enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.
Sharon is survived by her husband of 55 years, Perry Lynn Buroughs; her brother, Harvey Cornelius Clark III; her two children, Chantel Bruce of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Perry Lynn Buroughs Jr. of Shelby, North Carolina. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Joey, Becca, Brooke, Holly, Austin, Cole, and Ivy.
