Obituary of William Solomon Maestas

William S. Maestas, 74, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on July 9, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

He was born on November 20, 1948 to Solomon Maestas and Lucy Medina in Pueblo, Colorado. William went to school at South High School and graduated in 1968. He went on to serve in the United Stated Army. 

William worked as a forge operator for Western Forge for thirty-five years. 

William enjoyed working on and painting cars, going to car shows, and listening to rock music. He loved spending time with his family at home. In his later years, he enjoyed going to PACE weekly, watching TV, and relaxing. he loved to eat, and milk was his favorite drink. 

He was preceded in death by  his father, Soloman Maestas; mother, Lucy Apodaca; stepfather, Joe Apodaca; sister, Virginia Santistevan; brother, Gary Apodaca; and special friends, Vicki Williams and Pamela Espinoza. 

William is survived by his ex-wife, Nancy Rodriguez; daughters, Michelle Cancino and Donna Maestas; son, Julian (Julie) Maestas; grandchildren, Benjamin and Olivia Maestas; brother, Leo Apodaca; and sisters, Carol and Linda Apodaca; as well as several nephews and cousins.

A private service will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery with a memorial celebration to follow.
