Obituary of Joan Nethery

Joan Nethery, a compassionate soul, was born on August 18, 1941, in New Brunswick, New Jersey. She peacefully passed away on June 29, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Joan was a beloved wife to Loyal Nethery for nearly sixty-one years. Their union blessed them with three children: Brenda Lee (Greg) Nethery McQuatters, Shirley Nethery Tafoya, and James (Char) Nethery. Her legacy also includes eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Known for her caring and easy-going nature, Joan touched the lives of many. She had a selfless and nurturing spirit. Many even referred to her as "Mom". Her heart of gold and demeanor made her an angel among us. Her husband Loyal once said, "God sent an angel to Earth when he sent Joan."

We will remember Joan for her unwavering love and dedication to her family. She found great joy in spending time with her loved ones. Joan had a special heart for her grandchildren, and witnessing her interactions with them was truly heartwarming.

In her free time, Joan enjoyed shopping and dedicated herself to working at the church nursery. Her commitment to nurturing and caring for children extended beyond her own family.

A Celebration of Joan's life will be held on August 18, 2023, where friends and family will gather to honor her memory. Interment will take place at a later date. She will forever remain in our hearts, an enduring symbol of beauty, compassion, and love.
