I worked with Cyndi at the Records Bureau of the Colorado Springs Police Department. We became friends from that time on. She was so smart, beautiful (I thought, who is this beautiful blond with those long legs? )and a good friend. I remember the countless times she would assist officers/detectives at the counter and she would be able to remember criminals and their associates. She was very helpful and valuable in searching the 3X5 index cards with information regarding names, dates of birth and criminal/traffic record numbers of criminals or traffic offenders. Those alphabetized index cards were in the huge 6 foot wide electric Rolodex. We would type traffic violations and dispositions on 3X8 cards that were housed in rows of metal drawers. Criminal records were “flashed” onto a microfiche machine. We saw the department go from using electric typewriters to put data on paper records to entering them on computers. I don’t know how fast she could type but her hands would be flying. We saw a lot of changes at the PD regarding technology. She was quick to catch on and learn and was a professional that got her work done plus the work of others. I remember getting off work numerous times and we would stand in the front of the PD and talk and talk. She liked to help others. She helped me several times throughout the years. There were ups and downs in both of our lives but so glad we were friends. We kind of lost contact with each other after she retired but I am so glad that a few years back we were able to reunite again. I love her and will miss her very much. I am so glad that her sister, Lori was her medical advocate. She fought for Cyndi’s rights and care. I know Cyndi appreciated her so much. Even though we will miss Cyndi, I know she is in Heaven, with her Savior and without pain. Thank you, Cindi Crouch
