Obituary of Roberta Roxie Johnson
On June 25, 2023, Roberta Johnson gained her wings and went to walk with the angel and be with the Lord.
Roberta was born to Herman and Zurrie Lee Green on January 15, 1941, in Dothan, Alabama. She was one of five siblings (Huey Frank, Charles, Henry, and Lena). She later moved to Tampa, Florida, and graduated from Martin Luther King Jr. High School where she met and married Ivory Lee Johnson. Roberta ultimately moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where she loved seeing the mountains.
Roberta was employed as a photo tech at Walter Drake for eighteen years until it closed, and was then employed by Fleet Credit Card Services in Colorado Springs for the next nine years until she retired in 2008.
Roberta has always provided love and support for her family as she cared deeply for them and her church family. She was respected in her church and the community. Roberta loved the lord with all her heart. She was the epitome of strength, love, sassiness, joy, and laughter. A discerning woman of exquisite taste and class with a smile that would light up any room. Her presence will always be missed, and her legacy will always live on.
Roberta never failed to be anything less than excellent as a wife, mother, grandmother, and a loyal friend.
Roberta is survived by family members spanning from multiple generations; her son, Clarence (Sonya) Reeves; daughters, Sheavonne Fulton, Conita Smith, and Camellia (Juan) Davis; grandson, Dontyce Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivory Lee Johnson; her daughter, Monica Gates; and her granddaughter, Athena Mitchell.
She will be deeply missed!
