Obituary of Garrett Lee Shunk

Garrett Lee Shunk, 30, of Peyton, Colorado, passed away on June 20, 2023, in Peyton, Colorado. 

He was born September 22, 1992, to Bryan and Carolyn Shunk in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Garrett went to high school at Falcon High School and graduated in 2011. He supported his family’s business, Apollo Propane, Inc., as a service technician and driver for eleven years. 

Garrett loved and cared for his precious children, his wife, his family, and all those the Lord brought into his life. He was a man of grace and compassion, which showed through to all who knew him. 

He loved serving the Lord through ministries of Cross Fellowship Church, such as community and disaster relief projects. He also loved being a mentor to the young men during the church’s annual youth outreach (EPIC) weekend. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Yvonne Shunk; Louis and Edith Costa; and aunt, Charlotte (Costa) Hocking. 

Garrett is survived by his wife, Dotti Shunk; children, Scarlett and Garrett Jr.; parents, Bryan and Carolyn Shunk; sisters, Kristin Westman and Kendra (Joseph) Aulino; niece, Lilianna Westman; and father and mother-in-law, Scott and Ailene Porter.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Pastor Matt Morton and Cross Fellowship Church.

Celebration of Life/Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, June 30, 2023, at Cross Fellowship Church, 10915 Black Forest Road, with light refreshments to follow the service.
