Lois Miller

Obituary of Lois Leola Miller

Lois Leola Miller has departed this world, at the age of 90 on the nineteenth of June in Peyton, Colorado.

Lois came into this world on the twelfth of September in 1932 in Detroit, Michigan/Wayne County, to Albert Hjort and Leola Katherine (Roben) Hjort.

Though many cherish a life of worldly achievements, Lois chose to bestow herself entirely to her family, as a devoted housewife, loving mother, sister, daughter, great-grandmother, and great-nana. Her hands adorned with the skills of knitting, crocheting, and drawing, were the quiet expressions of her artistic soul. Her escape from reality came from the vast reaches of literature that gripped her like nothing else. Her soul was magnanimous and generous as she nurtured her family’s needs.

The family is left to mourn Lois’ departure, her daughter, Liana Miller LaCroix; son-in-law, Randy LaCroix; son, Gary Alan Miller; sister, Linda Marie Summers; nieces, Emily and Caleen Summers. Lois also leaves behind four granddaughters, Sarah Kalberg, Heather Lacroix, Caitlyn and Melissa Miller; and one great-grandson, Logan LaCroix.

All will sorely miss her loving kindness, just as a poet misses his pen when the ink dries up.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00AM, June 21, 2023, at Academy Christian Church, located at 1635 Old Ranch Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80908.

There will be no reception following her Memorial Service.

In the wake of her passing, words could never capture the essence of Lois, but her spirit lives on in the memories and hearts of those who loved her most.
