Obituary of Cristi Smith Westerfield

Cristi Smith Westerfield, 54, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on May 12, 2023, in Colorado Springs. 

She was born on December 30, 1968, to Julius Smith and Geraldine Puneky Smith in New Orleans, Louisiana. 

Cristi went to Riverdale High School and graduated in 1988. She went on to earn an associate degree from Louisiana Technical College. She worked many jobs as an administrative assistant, most recently for the United States Air Force on Peterson Air Force Base. 

After her retirement, Cristi was free to spend her time on the things she loved, her husband, children, grandchildren, crafting, and being a stay-at-home dog mom. Cristi was the happiest when surrounded by the people she loved most, whether it be family Sunday brunches or cruising the aisles of Target to spoil her grandchildren with clothes. Cristi’s presence and infectious laugh will be deeply missed by those who love her.

Cristi is proceeded in death by her mother, Geraldine Smith Puneky; and her father, Julius Smith.

 Cristi is survived by her spouse, Craig Westerfield; daughter, Bailey (Jeremy) Anderson; son, Grant (Annie) Westerfield; brother, Donald Smith; sisters, Aileen (Jim) Manders, and Julie (Mikel) Criswell. She also leaves behind three grandchildren.
