Lisaida Mondragon

Obituary of Lisaida Mondragon

In Loving Memory of Lisaida "Liz/Lizzie" Mondragon, July 9, 1932 to May 7, 2023

Liz was born in San Acacio, Colorado. She came from a family of thirteen siblings. She cleaned houses for a living until she was 85 years old. Her Catholic Faith, family, and friends all meant so much to her, and she held a special place in her heart for her one and only great-grandson, Henry Fabec.

Gardening, camping, making rosaries, reading, cooking, and attending Church, socials, and Red Hat Functions were all activities she enjoyed. In particular, she loved going to Cripple Creek and was always ready and willing to go anywhere she was invited to. Liz described herself as a “People Person.” Among the many adjectives that can be used to describe her, she will always be remembered as kind, generous, caring, compassionate, sympathetic, and loving.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, Margarito E. Mondragon; her five infant sons, Vincente, Delphino, Edwardo, Carlitos Borromeo, and Joseph; her infant grandchildren, Crissy Wren and Ronnie Mondragon; her son-in-law, Matthew Blea; her parents, Benjamin and Edwarda Garcia; her brothers, Floyd, Charlie, Dan, and Bianes; her sisters; Mary, Velma, and Jane; her infant siblings, Guillermo and Veronica; her mother and father-in-law, Santos Epifanio and Rebecca Mondragon; her brothers-in-law, Pime Martinez, Pime Valdez, Steve, Charlie, Doug, and Felix; her sisters-in-law, Sally, Ceria, Rose, and Eppie; and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

She is survived by her children, Kathryn Blea, Marilyn (Rodney) Wren, and Benjamin (Victoria) Mondragon; her grandchildren, Magi (Craig), Elena, Kari, Dana, and Andres; her great-grandchild, Henry; her brother, Richard; her sisters, Julia and Marjie; her brothers-in-law, Phillip, David, and George; her sisters-in-law, Edna, Clorinda, Anna Marie, Ruth, Geraldine, and Karen; and numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren.

If you can, please wear something yellow to Liz’s services. Together, we can be the living flowers in her garden.
