Obituary of Terry L Dees
In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 7th, 2023, Terry L. Dees, loving husband, father, and friend, passed away at home surrounded by his family and friends.
Terry was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on June 13th, 1941, to James Thomas “Tom” Dees and Jacquetta Marie Gold. He spent his youth galivanting and causing mayhem through Lawton, Oklahoma and Baytown, Texas, where he graduated high school from Robert E. Lee High. Terry was always very athletic and excelled at sports. He went on to play Football for Cameron University in Oklahoma.
In 1961, he answered his Country’s call and served with the Army 1st Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. If you're going to be one, be a Big Red One! Upon his return, he followed his father’s footsteps and began working as a car salesman. He went on to own and operate Colorado Country Motors and other automotive related business for over thirty years.
Terry remained active in sports, including but not limited to horse endurance racing, golf, and he was a Nationally ranked racquetball player in the senior division. He was also very involved in his community and supported 4-H, school athletics, the YMCA, CASA to name a few.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-eight years, Cornelia, his children, LaurieLeigh (Donnelly), Christopher Dees, Kelly (Eherenfeldt), Jessica (Moberly), Michael Dees; as well as his sister, Carole Ann (Steffen); brother, John Tiddark; his eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his many friends.
He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Susan (Craig).
He was always our champion and there for us-thick and thin.
