Obituary of Jan Marie Conrad

Jan Marie (Linko) Conrad passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 28, 2023 at the age of 73 in the Black Forest.  

Jan was born February 28, 1950 in Binghamton, New York.  

Jan served over 20 years in the US Air Force.  First as an enlisted computer maintenance technician and then as a communications officer, retiring as a Major.  During her military career she continued with college earning a Masters Degree in Computer and Informational Science, a Masters Degree in Enterprise Network Security, and a Doctorate in Enterprise Network Security.

After retiring from the Air Force, Jan worked several government contractor jobs.  Her favorite was working for over 15 years for Boeing in Colorado Springs, first on the government GPS contract and then on the government Space Based Space Surveillance (SBSS) contract.  She enjoyed the challenges the job presented, and she especially relished the time she spent with her co-workers. 

She was preceded in her death by her parents George and Jane Linko, and her brother Mike Linko.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years Ron Conrad, her daughter Kimberly Hance, her grandson Joshua Hance, her sister Karen Shaffer, her brother, Jim Linko, and many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Jan requested no viewing or funeral.  In lieu of flowers please make a donation in her honor to a charity of your choice.
