Obituary of Robert Autry Pharris Sr.

Robert A. Pharris, age 83, passed into the hands of the Lord on April 28, 2023 at 9:45pm in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

He was born on November 22, 1939 in Glendale, Texas to Eddie C. Pharris and Irene B. (Kersh) Pharris. 

Robert, “Bob”, is survived by his wife, Emma Jean (Sharp) Pharris; his sons, Robert A. Pharris, Jr. and John C. Pharris; his daughter-in-law’s, MaryAnn Pharris and Karey A. Pharris; his grandchildren, Paul R. Pharris and wife Briana, Brian J. Pharris, Aaron J. Pharris and wife Shonnie, James Allen and wife Carrie, Jessica Allen, Annika A. Pharris, and Aiden C. Pharris; his great grandchildren, Cobin Pharris, Declan Pharris, Nellie Pharris, Ezri Pharris, Abigail Allen, and Kaleb Ebeck; and by his brothers, Joe Pharris, Gene Pharris (wife Donna) and Russell Pharris (wife Mary).

Bob was an academic scholar in high school and graduated with honors from Wayland Baptist University.  He entered the United States Air Force after high school, earned the rank of Senior Master Sergeant (SMSgt), and served for over 25 years.  He also served 20 years as a Civil Servant for the Department of the Air Force.  His occupations centered on communications (Cyber) and cryptography (Crypto). SMSgt Pharris served two tours in Vietnam and countless other assignments.  As a government employee, he was a manager with MILSTAR on Peterson AFB and a Crypto Specialist on Kelly AFB. 

Some of Bob’s hobbies included electronics, wood working, turning wrenches on cars, and helping people. He was a very loving family man and Christian who had a devotion to teach others about God.  As a result, he served as a Sunday School Teacher for years. He will be missed on this Earth, but we look forward to seeing him in heaven!
