Obituary of Lorraine Jane Hale

Lorraine Hale, 87, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, entered God’s kingdom on April 23rd, 2023. 

She was born February 10th, 1936 to Lyle and Ann Garrick of Outlook, Montana. She grew up in a large family, the fifth child of thirteen, one sister and eleven brothers. 

After she graduated from Outlook High School in 1954, she briefly attended college in Great Falls, Montana, where she met her future husband, Kermit T. Hale Jr., a pilot in the US Air Force. They were married on September 29th, 1956, in Las Vegas, Nevada and blessed with three children. 

Lorraine moved to Colorado Springs with her children in 1970 after her husband Kermit was killed in an airplane accident.  She retired from Current Inc. after many years working as a secretary. A loving wife and devoted mother, she enjoyed dancing, hiking in the Colorado Mountains including climbing Pikes Peak, playing piano and listening to classical music. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives and loved to travel. She will be dearly missed.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband; and eight brothers, Glenn, Gordon, Dwaine, Ronald "Pete", Owen, Dennis, Robert "Bob", and Curt. 

She is survived by her two sons, Mark (Nancy and children Rusty, Hollie, and Heather), Steven (Jill and children Brooke, Carter, Krista, and Becca); her daughter, Pamela; her sister, Carol (Donald); and brothers, Galen (Fengxia), Clayton (Chris) and Clair (Fern); along with three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
