Obituary of Lisa Helen Gremillion
Lisa Helen Marshall Gremillion was born on January 13, 1968 to Peter and Gwendoline Marshall in Barking, Essex County in the United Kingdom.
Lisa passed away suddenly and unexpectedly April 24, 2023.
As a baby, her mother nicknamed her “Sparrow” for her adorable propensity to eat her baby food and immediately open her mouth for the next bite. She was a creative child who loved art and playing the piano.
Her creativity and ingenuity lead her to college where she trained as a hair stylist and shortly thereafter to the West End London theatre scene in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s. She made wigs for actors and actresses for television and theater productions.
She worked as a dresser on one of the original theatre productions of Les Miserables, The Importance of Being Earnest, and a variety of other plays and musicals in the west end.
Lisa met her husband, Adam, in the small, beautiful seaside town of Whitby, North Yorkshire after she moved to the north of England to be closer to her parents. After several years of back-and-forth visits across the pond, Lisa and Adam were married on the 16th of November 2004 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Lisa proudly supported her husband during the remainder of his US Air Force career; and after his retirement they relocated to Colorado and the house they originally had built in 2005.
Lisa put her considerable theater skills back to work after being hired to be the wardrobe manager at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center next to the Colorado College campus downtown. She was loved by all the actors and actresses she supported and her fellow dressers. Lisa loved all creative pursuits. She was an accomplished watercolor artist, a seamstress, played the piano, and loved to design and build all manner of projects. She loved gardening, birdwatching, cooking, and was especially fond of baby Yoda (Grogu) from the Disney series, The Mandolorian. She was an avid F1 racing fan supporting all of the British drivers.
Lisa is survived by her husband of over eighteen years, Adam Gremillion; her mother, Gwen Marshall; her father, Peter Marshall; her brother Steve Marshall, and her youngest brother, Paul Marshall; as well as one niece and five nephews. Lisa was the oldest of three children who grew up surrounded by an extended close-knit family of cousins, aunts, and uncles in the East End of London.
Lisa’s small stature masked a huge personality that will be sorely missed by family, friends, and all who met her.
