Obituary of Carmen Cruz
Carmen "Dolly" Cruz, age 94, of Los Angeles, California passed away on April 11, 2023 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Her life began on July 16, 1928 to Julian and Margaret Ceniceros in Santa Ana, California. Dolly was a food truck and restaurant owner for over twenty years and was famous for her Mexican-American cuisine. Her greatest passions were cooking for people, and helping those in need, Dolly was well known throughout the community.
Dolly lived a very rich and adventurous life full of traveling, dancing, going to casinos, and playing Bingo. She also loved her family, her friends, and pets very dearly. Dolly will be greatly missed by all who loved and adored her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Margaret Ceniceros; daughter, Margaret "Penchies" Galvan; sons, Johnny "Leckies" Galvan, and Jerry "BB's" Reyes; sisters, Eleanor Compo, and Cathryn "Katie" Garcia; brother, Mike "Bingie" Ceniceros; and grandson, David Reyes.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are brothers, Raymond (Cherrie) Ceniceros, and Paul "Tiny" Ceniceros; son, Johnny (Tamara Trujillo) Galvan Jr.; daughter-in-laws, Carrie (Mark Trefonas) Perez, and Debbie (Brian) Darlington; granddaughter, Deserie (Donny Holcomb) Nelson; grandsons, Brandon (Amanda Baker) Reyes, Rhyan (Jess Ann Culp) Reyes, and Evan (Alexandria) Reyes; great-granddaughter, Lauren (Christian Cruz) Nelson; great-grandson, Ryan Nelson; nieces, nephews, and her dear friends.
The family wishes to thank everyone who loved Dolly dearly and has been there with them throughout this difficult time.
