Obituary of Christina Lee Marquez

Christina Lee Marquez was granted her angel's wings on April 2nd, 2023, at the age of 43, after a long and brave fight with brain cancer. 

Her life may seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her, understand that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time.

Christina was a lifelong resident of Colorado Springs.  She was a successful hairdresser and businesswoman spreading love, life and making beauty at each salon she touched.  One of her greatest accomplishments was the opening of her own salon, Maven Hair Studio, in Old Colorado City.   

She loved life to the fullest and was willing and ready to experience one adventure after another.  She had a great love of the outdoors, camping, paddle boarding, motorcycle riding, and she especially loved trips to Mexico. She will be remembered fondly for her contagious laugh, her infectious love of life, her raucous sense of humor, and for her tremendous love of family and friends. 

Christina left behind a large and loving extended family. She is survived by her parents, Brian Frasier and Teresa Bushey; and her stepdad, Daniel Bushey. The light of her life, daughter, Mariah (Caleb Hernandez) Marquez; grandson, Axton; grandmother, Shirlee Fraiser; Uncle Darrel Fraiser; siblings, James Wildman, Riley Frasier, Taite Alexandria Frasier, Dakota Bushey and Ellieana Bushey. Also, extensive members of the Marquez family. 

A special remembrance and thanks to Nick, Sue and Matt Renfro - Molly McDonald and Kelsey Lindstrom who lovingly cared for her in their home in her final months of life.

Christina would also want to mention the legions of loved ones who made her last year special by driving, preparing meals, helping with household chores, visits, and those trying to grant every wish left on her list.  Your kindness and love texts, phone calls, words of encouragement, and postings will always be remembered! 

Celebration of Life, 1:00PM, April 21, 2023, New Life Church Prayer Center, (south building) 10025 Voyager Parkway, Colorado Springs, Colorado, 80924.  A live stream will be posted three days before the celebration.

An intimate gathering of close family and friends will follow at The Overlook at Interquest, 11124 Cedar Glen View, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80921.

Christina never met a stranger or passed up an opportunity to help someone in need, so in lieu of flowers, please honor her memory by doing the same, or donations can also be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
