Paul Haley

Obituary of Paul Edwards Haley

Paul Edwards Haley, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado passed away on February 24, 2023 after a brief illness.

Paul was born in 1941 to Charles W. Haley Sr. and Evangeline (Edwards) M. Haley in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

He graduated from St. Michael's College of Colchester, Vermont, with a bachelor of arts in education in 1962. He participated in the Air Force ROTC program while in college and upon graduation was commissioned as an officer in the United States Air Force. He and his wife, the former Michelle St. Germain, were married in 1963 and had four children.

Paul's military career took him and his family to various locations within the United States and around the globe. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a steadfast patriot, and served his country with unwavering commitment and pride. Paul progressed to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and retired from military service in 2001 after a combined total of thirty-four years of service. While in the Air Force Reserve, Paul also worked for the Federal Emergency Management Agency at the National Warning Center within the Cheyenne Mountain Complex (i.e., NORAD) where his experience and knowledge in disaster response were put to good use.

Paul is survived by his wife, Michelle; four children, Michael (Susan) Haley, Christine (Donald) Shaw, David Haley, and Kevin Haley; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Aside from being devoted to service of country and family, Paul was a fervent Roman Catholic and avid supporter of Traditional Catholic Orders and the priests, brothers, and sisters who serve in that capacity. He wrote many essays in defense of Traditional Roman Catholic doctrine. His family's greatest consolation is that he received the fullest benefits of the Sacrament of Last Rites just before his passing.
