My thoughts and prayers are with you Carl, Edison & Family.
I have fond memories of our Colorado high school years when Melodie (Mel), Gloria (Glo) and I (Kathy) hung out together. I remember of Mel's favorite places to go when she could go to school activities was the Soda Straw for ice cream/shakes/etc. We were blessed that the 3 of us were able to keep in contact these 50 yrs.! Over the years, I have seen Mel blossom in many areas of her talents which I know filled her with joy. How special, Carl, that you and Mel shared a love of music & a love for our LORD! Also, your long years together as a couple is very admirable and an example to all of us!
With living in the Pacific NW, I regret that I'll not be able to attend in person, but thankfully, I can be with you in spirit thru livestreaming. Thank you Carl & Springs Funeral Services for making this possible.

I was both shocked and deeply saddened by the news that Melodie has passed away. Melodie was a quirky and funny lady who always managed to put a smile on my face and a brighter lite in my day. When my wife and I lived in Colorado, she and her husband Carl were probably the closest and best friends we had. The four of us spent many happy hours in each other’s homes singing, sharing thoughts about our Faith, and, of course, Music. Melodie shared a love of the clarinet and saxophone with me and I can remember playing duets with her at our Christmas service in Ellicott. She loved to sing as well and she shared many crafting ideas with my wife when they were together. I still have the “Angel Hymn Book” that she made for us sitting on top of my piano music bookcase. It was with heavy hearts that we left them behind when we moved to Oklahoma even though we did stay in touch for several years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and Christian and I have no doubt that she will be missed by her friends and family with as much longing and melancholy as I have thinking of the good times we shared with her. Rest in peace, Lady. I know you have gone to the reward that you so richly deserve.
