Obituary of Anne Elizabeth Prentice

Anne Elizabeth Prentice was born on June 29, 1939, in Hartford City, Indiana. After graduating from Ball State University, Anne moved to California, where she taught middle school English and History. Set up on a blind date by a dear friend, Anne married her husband of forty-one years, Thayer Prentice, after only five months. Together they raised three daughters in the Sacramento, California area. Although Anne's chosen profession was wife and mother, her enthusiasm for teaching continued. Anne tutored children, taught adult literacy, and worked as a substitute teacher. She was a docent for the Crocker Art Gallery and an avid bridge player.

Anne passed away on February 7, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Jim) Brown, Lynne (Marc) Hopper, and Julie (John) Vrattos; grandchildren, Andrew, Kellyann (José), Melanie, Alec, Alena, and Colton; and great-granddaughter, Valentina.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Thayer Prentice; parents, Paul and Marie Kriegbaum; sister, Marjory Marlow; and brother, Robert Kriegbaum.
